Wahoo, (four-day) weekend!

Wednesday night: using the last hour of daylight to organize patio and yard items in the shed; preparing spiced pears for our Thanksgiving feast; reading a new e-book and sipping hot chocolate.

Thanksgiving: sleeping in just a bit; heading to Dad’s place for a full day together … making a big breakfast (scrambled eggs, breakfast links, homefried potatoes and onions, fresh fruit), watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time in years, making a big dinner (scalloped potatoes, ham for Dad, green bean casserole, vegetarian dressing, scalloped corn, spiced pears with cottage cheese, crescent rolls, and pecan pie), watching football all afternoon, and talking on skype with out-of-state family.  And no shopping!

Friday mid-day: getting three quotes from auto body shops for damage to our bumper; placing outside holiday lights on our holly and evergreen bushes; bringing the decorative concrete dragons inside for the winter; starting the organizational work for the 2014 custom family calendars.  And no shopping!

Saturday: eating lunch here with Dad and Niki; going to see “Philomena” at Classic Cinemas.

Sunday: celebrating the first Sunday of Advent for this season; starting our interior holiday decorating.
